A Brief Project Report

Selected students from the Departments of Economics & Commerce along with Assistant Professor Ms. Mhabeni Kikon visited a medical and surgical wholesale outlet, ‘Yhome Surgicals’ in Kohima on 18th September 2023. The primary objective of the survey was to understand the wholesale and retail market process in detail.
The company was established in 2013 and was developed by collaborating with some medical companies in Guwahati and Dimapur. Initially, the products were distributed to hospitals and pharmacies in and around Kohima town. But over the years the company has expanded its business to other parts namely, Phek and Senapati districts and beyond. First aid and surgical tools are the most demanded items. The store also restocks medicines and surgical materials regularly. The overall assessment indicates that the company is making considerable profits. It is contributing to the development of the state economy by engaging in the timely storing and distribution of medicines and surgical tools to hospitals and medical institutions. Furthermore, it is empowering the
Educated youths by gainfully employing them in various capacities.
