Motto: “Libertas et Fraternitas”
Estd: 2003
The motto “Libertas et Fraternitas” is of Greek origin, ‘Libertas’ meaning liberty and ‘Fraternitas’ meaning fraternity or brotherhood. In English, it translates to “Liberty and Fraternity.”
The core concepts of political science as a subject and as a pragmatic field of study and discipline are liberty and fraternity. Every individual, regardless of his race, class, or ethnicity, has every right to liberty. Promoting liberty in a positive way is only possible if there is unison and a sense of brotherhood and belonging to one another. Hence, the political science department logo signifies promoting unity, equity, liberty, and tranquility.
The logo’s main highlight is the image of an eagle, which represents obtaining greater heights and beginnings. The eagle is known to embody equity, freedom, and perseverance.
The logo’s next crucial highlight contains the image of a sun rise in bright orange; the sun rise signifies ‘new beginnings’ and the color bright orange stands for optimism, confidence, warmth, and cooperation.
Another subtle yet vital element of the logo is the golden leaf surrounding the eagle on both sides, which stands for peace and harmony. The leaves are gold, which represents success and sophistication.
